The Monday Morning Mingles resumed this week after the Christmas break in mixed weather and conditions.
With everyone glad to be back golfing Steve and Karen Middleton won the day with a net 34.8, nearly four shots clear of runners up Elaine Shelton and Tom Eadon with 38.6. Haydn and Liz Snow came in third place with net 40.4
The best four ball was Haydn and Liz Snow with Steve and Karen Middleton combined net 75.2
The children’s Christmas Party held on 22nd December was a great success with 35 of members’ children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren attending. Entertained by Mr Odd Socks, they had a whale of a time playing games and dancing, followed by lovely food and then singing on the patio and watching Santa arrive and walk up the course to go back inside and give each one of them an early Christmas present.
The Gents’ Christmas Competition was also played on the 22nd. 70 members took part in the fun competition playing the course backwards. Each team won a prize, ranging from whisky, port, various wines, chocolates, and biscuits — culminating in the last placed team taking home a box of stuffing, which is always met with much leg pulling and teasing.
