The President’s Putter and Compton Cup came to fruition on Saturday 10th August after 2 and 5 rounds respectively. The President’s Putter is competed for by players of a handicap of 20 and below and the Compton Cup of players 21 and above.
The overall winner of the President’s Putter with two excellent rounds of 70 + 72 – a total of 142 – was Jack Griffin. The Compton Cup was won by Charles Fitzgerald with 72 pts, the best 4 from 5 scores.
The results on the day for the President’s Putter Round 2 were as follows:
Winner: Peter Poolan with net 68; 2nd on count back (ocb) was Jack Griffin with net 72; 3rd place went to Paul Gough with a net 72.
Twos sweep: Matt Catton, Kev Robertson.
The results for the final round of the Compton Cup (Round 5) were:
Winner with net 72 Steve Brown; 2nd Colin Kitchen with net 73; 3rd Nigel Blount with net 76.
