Presidents Putter Rnd 2 (RWS)
On Saturday 11th August, 80 competitors entered the 2nd round of the President’s Putter with a vast number in the field able to win the coveted prize. Although the weather was a bit cooler, it was no easy task with the fairways still very dry and hard, creating more run on the ball.
The overall winner on the day was Club Captain, Glenn Price with a nett 67.
2nd was JP O Reilly with a 68 on count back and 3rd was George Boddy with a 68.
Best gross was Sam Pollard with a very respectable 72.
Twos Sweep was shared by: Roger Alexander, Steve Draisy, John Harvey, Gerry Stephens, Stuart McNeil, Peter Poolan, Neil Farish, Mick Wilson,Paul Gough, Martin Hall, Ian Townsend.
The overall Winner of the President’s Putter over the two rounds was Club Captain, Glenn Price with 73 + 67 = 140 0n count back from Sam Pollard.
Compton Cup Rnd 5
Twenty competitors entered the 5th round of the Compton Cup and the outcome was quite close.
The winner was Nigel Shaw with a nett 68.
2nd Jamie Orton with 70 on count back and 3rd Mick Wheatley with 70.
Overall winner of Compton Cup was Phil Gray, with the best 4 scores over the 5 rounds played.
