The four man Texas scramble on Saturday 28th January was a close contest with the top 3 places all carding 48 points and the result decided by count back on the back nine. Winners were: Tim Buxton, Jon Cliffe, Jevan Goddard and Kevin Robertson from runners up Steve Wright, John Harvey, Martin Wheeler and Steve Brown. Third place went to Matt and Ray Catton, with Colin and Gary Kitchen.
Melton gents played a progressive stableford on Saturday 21st January with 2 scoring on the first 6 holes, 3 on the middle 6 and all four to score on the last 6.
The winners were Adie Stokes, Dave Bailey, Steve Haines and Chris Carmichael with a total of 113 points 2 ahead of runners up Mick Pollard, Tim Mortimer, Mick Ward and Tony Robinsopn with 111. Third place went to Scott Cartwright, James Cartwright Malcolm Farrow and Mike Catlin on 108. Only one player, Matt Thompson scored a 2 on the day and bagged the whole two’s sweep.
The 6th round of the senior section President’s Putter on Tuesday, 10th January, was won by John Bourne with a tremendous score of 45 points. Senior Vice Captain, Jerzy Schmidt was runner up with 40 points and Bob Barnes 39 points secured him 3rd place.
