Ladies’ Scary Scramble – 31st October 2014

IT WAS CERTAINLY the witching hour at MMGC this Halloween when 56 ladies in their spooky outfits took to their broomsticks to play in the Ladies’ Scary Scramble. The open started with a witch’s brew of mulled spider (sorry – cider!) and then play commenced.  The winning team of Shelley Pritchard, Emma Wood, Tracy Ferguson and Sue Bean from Newark Golf Club came in with a 2 under par gross score of 70 giving them a nett 63.  Obviously the witch’s feast in the Halfway House didn’t deter them.  Runners up were Melton ladies Julia Brown, and Lady Captain, Dorothy Jaggers with Terri Wills and Sue Roberts from Park Hill with a nett 65.   With a score of 66.7 3rd place went to Maureen Stapleford, Alison Gatward, Gay Cham and Fay Hutton.   Chris Cook and Kathie Finn from Melton and their team mates, Tricia Kirby and Julie Hyatt from Glen Gorse took 4th spot with nett 67.3.   Best Dressed Witch Award went to Alison Gatward.
