ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 19TH MARCH 2015 – REPORT
62 members attended the Club’s Annual General Meeting on the evening of Thursday 19th March. Retiring Chairman Ray Smith gave a report on the progress of the Club during 2014, Past Captain John Squires gave praise to the members who have supported the Club and handed over the Captain’s tankard to 2015 Club Captain, Brendan Boyce.
Brendan gave a rundown of the forthcoming year including a Captain’s Charity Scramble being ran in conjunction with Lady Captain, Karen Middleton in May, Captain’s Day and The Summer Ball (both in July) and the Annual Dinner Dance in November. Brendan also announced the team Captain’s and wished them all well for their forthcoming matches. He also gave his final report as Club Finance Director having completed his second term of 3 years in office being in situ since 2008. Brendan was pleased to report the strong financial position the club was now in, having made the best profit in the Club’s history.
New Committee members appointed were: Phil Millward as Club Chairman (moved from Golf operations Director), Pat Lee as Golf Operations Director, Doug Woolley Finance Director and Eddie Cham House Director. We wish them all well in their commitment to, and the work they undertake for the Club and members. Marketing and Development and Personnel and Communications had no nominees.
The members Proposals submitted – 1 To Change the Dress Code at AGM’s to Smart Casual and 2 To Change the format of the Major Trophy, The Clark Cup and agree that the Competitions Committee determine a new format for it, were both passed unanimously. The meeting closed at 9.10pm
RACE TO WOODHALL SPA – The 2015 Race to Woodhall Spa begins when the first qualifying RWS competition takes place on Saturday 4th April. Remember to book your tee and take part through the season for the chance to play the Grand Final at Woodhall Spa in October. Tee booking available from Sunday 22nd March for the 4th April – Take part in the most exciting competition of last year everyone has the opportunity to win! Look out for the new Race To Woodhall Spa notice board in the gents locker room. MUIR CUP, MUIR PLATE & TED RADFORD ENTRY DEADLINES EXTENDED
The deadline for entries into : the Gents Muir Cup Match play Knockout – for those with handicaps up to 16 – and the Gents Muir Plate Match Play Knockout – for handicaps 17 to 28 have been extended to Friday March 27th. Remember there are bonus points for the Race to Woodhall Spa for simply entering these competitions. Entry to be made in the Pro Shop £3.00 pay on entry.
The entry deadline for the Mixed Greensome Match Play knockout – Ted Radford Trophy has also been extended to March 27th £6.00 per pair. Enter in the Pro Shop, pay on entry.

HAVE YOUR PARTY IN THE CLUBHOUSE – Did you know you can celebrate your birthdays, anniversaries and other parties in the clubhouse with no room hire fees (excluding weddings). From buffets to three course dinners, Paul and Marie will be happy to discuss all your catering arrangements with you.
