Mixed Away Visit to Breadsall Priory Washout

The much anticipated Mixed Away weekend to Breadsall Priory took place on the 14th and 15th October.  All participants arrived at the hotel by 9.40am for a welcome chat and the draw.  The first day was due to be a fourball betterball followed by a three ball waltz on day 2.  However, due to the inclement weather on day 1, buggies were not allowed on the course and the moderate rain meant several players decided not to go out.  Additionally, both courses were also closed not long after the last groups had teed off on the first, meaning that those who managed to play only completed 9 holes.
Unfortunately, day 2 fared no better and again, no buggies were allowed.  Although both courses were open, a steady downpour was forecast.  Some players decided to brave the weather anyway whilst others headed home.  However, we had all been thoroughly well looked after the evening before and the three course meal was delicious.  Some of the prize money was spent on providing wine for the meal, which was a welcome decision.  A big thank you to Haydn and Liz Snow for their hard work in organising the event and the 32 players who participated.
