PORK PIE COMPETITOR GETS HOLE IN ONE! On a glorious sunny day 228 guests and members played in our Pork Pie Open which is generously sponsored by Dickinson & Morris. Prizes were presented by our Club Captain, John Squires and D & M’s Managing Director, Stephen Hallam with a special mention going to our member, Kev Newman who got a hole in one on the 14th. All with a score of 40 pts ocb, the winners were Mick and Sam Pollard (MMGC & Park Hill) : 2nd – M Sissons & C Ryl (Hollinwell & Rufford Park) : 3rd Kev Newman & Jon Baxter (MMGC). In 4th and 5th with 39 pts ocb, were Steve Goddard & Phil Curtis (MMGC) and J Marsh & D Catell. Tom Eadon & John Squires came 6th on 39 pts (MMGC) and Paul Lewin & Karl Goodacre (MMGC & Stapleford Park) took 7th with 38 pts. Finally, MMGC members Brian Geeson and Jake Mogg came 8th with 37 pts.
Nearest the Pins went to Matt Catton (MMGC) on the 5th, D Rice (Breadsall Priory) 7th and, of course, Kev Newman (MMGC) on the 14th. Ian Knight from Stanton on the Wolds won the Longest Drive.
