Race Night: No Tiger Rolls but plenty of Prosecco

The Melton Golf Club race night got under way on Saturday 14th April and a lot of fun was had by all.  Although not everyone was lucky enough to have a winner, it was obvious that several people had more than their fair share of luck.

Around 54 attended the night and everyone was served with a variety of good, hot food in a basket supplied by Carol and her staff.  Nick Humphries, the House Director, organised the whole event and although it was a charity based evening, it was also about getting our club members and their friends to meet and enjoy each other’s company. All the owners of the winning horses were presented with a bottle of Prosecco from organiser, Nick. A big thank-you must go out to Justine who very professionally ran the whole evening for the Club and of course a massive thank-you to all the race sponsors who supported the evening. The sponsors were: Purple Bricks, Middletons, Newton Fallowell, B&H Midlands and Melton Mowbray Tyres.  Health Interlink and the Club Captain, Glenn Price,  sponsored the last race. This proved to be the highlight of the evening, with racehorse names too blue to print here!

A close finish

The money raised on the night provided Club Captain and Lady Captain, Sandie Normanton, with an additional £100 each for their charities and over £300 was also raised for club funds.  The key to the door was held on the night but not won, so an amazing £1250 will be the prize on offer at the next arranged function with only 8 keys remaining!
