THE RACE TO WOODHALL SPA COMPETITION AT A GLANCE…

An exciting ‘season-long’ competition, the Race to Woodhall Spa (RWS) has been designed to add value to the membership, increase competition participation and to reward those that support the club by entering more competitions.

It’s an Order of Merit, integrating a season points system into our current gents individual competitions throughout the qualifying season.

The ‘Top 30’ in the season long standings will qualify for the ‘Top 30 Playoff/Shootout’ at the end of the season at MMGC. An exciting finale to the season…

It gets better… The ‘Top 5’ from the ‘Top 30 Playoff/Shootout’ will join the winner of the RWS Order of Merit to battle it out for the crown at Woodhall Spa, on the respected Hotchkin course. More importantly the ‘Final Six’ will have their round on the Hotchkin paid for…! A wonderful incentive to do well in RWS…

The Race to Woodhall Spa has been adapted and designed to fit into the current club competition structure, complementing our near century-old competitions at MMGC. >

THE BENEFITS TO YOU THE MEMBER…

* FREE FOR MEMBERS-ONLY

This is absolutely FREE for members of MMGC to be a part of. Just by entering RWS qualifying competitions, you’ll be automatically entered into the Race to Woodhall Spa. – No additional entry fees taken.

* VALUE FOR MONEY

Added value when entering club competitions. You’ll collect points just for entering RWS qualifying competitions, adding extra value to the competition fee.

* INCREASE IN PRIZE MONEY

With a significant increase in competition entries, winnings have naturally increased. Its now worth while being ‘in the money’ again!!

* EXPERIENCE

The Race to Woodhall Spa creates excitement throughout the season. Feel part of a season-long competition like the professionals experience.

* FAIR FOR ALL

The system has been designed to be fair on all handicaps. No matter what level of ability, you will have a fair chance of doing well in RWS. Working in the background, a separate result will be created as if we only had ONE DIVISION for that particular day and points will be awarded accordingly, thus not affecting MMGC’s current competition structure.

* MMGC’S VERY OWN ORDER OF MERIT

RWS has some nice little features. You’ll be able to see your current position in the standings, your previous position, how many competitions entered, how many wins, top 10’s etc.

* KEPT UP TO DATE

Members will be kept fully updated on the RWS noticeboard (opposite the Handicaps board in the gents locker room), and on its very own pages within the Club’s website. Here you will be able to access the latest and past competition results, news, fixtures, points distribution, and the all important table standings.

* TRUER CLUB HANDICAPS

MMGC will no doubt proudly have truer handicaps than anywhere else in Leicestershire, if not the country. With many members now playing in more handicap qualifying competitions since RWS started three years ago, this has naturally resulted in a truer reflection of a members golfing ability.

If you have any related queries about RWS please now contact John Harvey who will administrate the results and fixtures during the 2017 season. If you have queries regarding club fixtures, club results, prize money and handicaps, then please contact the club office. RWS fixtures are also listed in the new Fixture Booklets which are available free of charge from the office.

We hope you join in and enjoy your season of golf and wish you Very Good luck in the RWS Order of Merit!
