Norwood Park Seniors v MMGC Seniors
On Wednesday 30th May, MMGC seniors travelled to Norwood Park and played against their Seniors. The matches started slightly late and they were met by torrential rain which did not relent.
Both Captains agreed to play 9 holes only and, if the rain continued, to complete the matches at the half way point and record the scores.
The points came from the following pairings: Dick Chapman (Team Captain) and Denis Dayman 2&1, David Wells and Brian Wray half, Ken Kirk and Bob Purkis half, Julien Kissel and Jim Mcquillan half, Richard Haynes and Nick McDonald half, Haydn Snow and Bob Lemon won 3&2 making the outcome a 3 all draw. The match was followed by the hosts providing a BBQ.
Seniors Competition
On Tuesday 6th June 28 Seniors turned out to play in the Silver Plate Trophy, all managing the complicated method of scoring. The outcome was a well deserved win by David Bentley on 36 points, with Ken Longbottom 2nd on 34 points. The award of the trophy will be carried out at the Seniors’ Presentation night later in the year.
