Successful Drive-In for EMICS

Nancy on the 1st tee

Glenn and Gerry

On Sunday 27th January, the new captains for 2019, Club Captain Gerry Stephens and Lady Captain Nancy Denny, had their Drive-In.  Although the weather was cold and dry, there was a gusting wind which made driving tricky.  Gerry launched a high ball which was brought down quickly onto the fairway at a respectable 167 yards.  Nancy hit a solid drive which plugged at 137 yards.

In the Clubhouse afterwards, Dougie Bryce thanked the outgoing captains, Glenn Price and Sandie Normanton and introduced the new captains.  The captains have decided to support a single charity this year and have chosen East Midland Immediate Care Scheme.

EMICS is a group of volunteer doctors who provide pre-hospital emergency care throughout the region. Dr Tim Gray MBE, founder member of the charity, was on hand to chat to the members of the club. Fundraising began on the day and, through the generosity of everyone there, £530.60 was raised as a great start.
