The John Jackson and Jol Calder Club Championship

On Sunday 29th July, golfers with handicaps between 1 and 12 turned out to play 36 holes in the Club Championship, one round in the morning and one in the afternoon. The golfer with the best aggregate score is crowned Club Champion for 2018.  There is also a prize for the best senior (over 55 years) and the best lady golfer with the lowest scores. With torrential rain throughout the day and a very strong wind, it made the going very difficult which was evident in some of the high scores returned.

The overall winner and the new club champion was Sam Pollard, the Senior prize went to Club Vice Captain Gerry Stephens and the Lady Champion was won by Lady Vice Captain Nancy Denny.  The Club Captain, Glenn Price, thanked everyone for turning out and a special mention was made to the Professional, Tony Westwood and Dougie Woolley for all their hard work throughout the day. As club champion Sam Pollard, as is tradition, then gave a short speech to thank everyone involved.
