Disappointing loss at Market Harborough

On an incredibly warm evening, 4 ladies from MMGC set off to compete in the County Foursomes at Market Harborough Golf Club, who had the advantage of a home draw.  Their course is very undulating and provided a stern test for all players alike, with the greens being especially fast.  No putt it seemed was straight or level as there were cambers, breaks and slopes on every green.  The rough was also extremely punishing as the Melton Ladies found to their cost.

Leah Radford and Nancy Denny fought hard to turn around an early deficit and managed to clinch a win on the 18th to end their match 1 up.  Unfortunately, Julia Brown and Sue Hitchman were unable to overcome their opponents despite some solid putting and ended 4 down.  The overall aggregate score of 3 up for the Market Harborough Ladies means that they are through to the next round and we wish them well.
