The first Trophy Competition of 2016 and also the first Race to Woodhall Spa qualifier – The Gerry Davies trophy took place on Saturday. The winners, Richard South and Billy Kevan won the better ball format with 42 points. Second and third place was decided by count back Sam Pollard (2015 RWS Champion) and David Poolan taking second spot from Mark Pedge and Dougie Bryce both pairs having shot 38 points and Sam Pollard beginning the defence of his RWS title in great style. The two’s sweep was shared by Jon Baxter, John Harvey and Ricki Curtis.
RWS Competition instigator Tim Buxton has introduced RWS points for the pairs trophies this year to generate even more rivalry amongst the competitors for the coveted 6 places at Woodhall Spa in October.
