On a gloriously sunny and warm Wednesday, Melton Mowbray Golf Club played host to the L&RGU Seniors’ Team match vs Derbyshire. An initial round of nine holes was played, followed by a full 18 with a welcome break for lunch in between.
Both teams commended the club on the outstanding hospitality they were extended and the excellent state of the course – all testament to the hard work and professionalism of the Club staff out on the course and in the clubhouse.
The course conditions allowed for a great run on the ball and, in fact, the lead Leicestershire pair were 6 under par in defeating their opponents. L&RGU posted a comfortable win 11 1/2 to 6 1/2
