Sandie and Pat score highly in the Ping Fourball Betterball

On Wednesday 20th June, ten pairs of ladies took to the course playing in the Ping Fourball Betterball competition.  The results from this national competition have to be in by 1st August when the top 50 scores returned will play in the Grand Final and the next 50 scores will play in the Plate competition. Both competitions will be played at Gainsborough on 3rd and 4th September.

The Ping 4Ball Betterball was won by Sandie Normanton and Pat Barnes with a superb score of 45 points. Their result will go forward to the organisers and hopefully it will be good enough to qualify in the top 100 scores. It’s many years since any of our ladies qualified for either of these competitions and, even then, this has only happened once before.

Runners-up Alison Gatward with Maureen McCall returned an excellent score of 42 points and all the other players did themselves proud. Well done ladies and good luck to Sandie and Pat.  Let’s hope their great score is good enough to allow them entry into the Grand Final.
