HEAVY RAIN FIRST THING didn’t deter the hardy competitors of Melton Mowbray Golf Club. 32 players took part with some good scores returned in spite of the weather. With the course standing up well to the conditions Jev Goddard and Jon Cliffe won the competition with a tremendous 43 points. Runners up, Gavin Baxter and Oliver Duley were 5 points adrift with 38. The team of David Bentley and Billy Kevan took third place on count back with 36 points – 4 teams returning with the same score. Three twos were scored on the day, Richard and Tony South and Jon Cliffe with Jevan Goddard on the 14th, Daryl Clater and Les Stroud on the 16th.
