The Melton Mowbray Golf Club professional, Tony Westwood, organised an individual Stableford competition with monies going to a charity designated by the family of Steve Haines, a member of Melton Golf Club who sadly recently passed away. There was a good response with over 35 entrants, even though it was a very cold and windy day.
The winners were as follows: 1st Chris Vose with a most respectable score of 41 pts. 2nd again with a good score was Dave Timbrell with 40 pts. 3rd Club Vice Captain John Harvey with 37 pts on count back, pushing Chris Radford into 4th also with 37 pts.
Twos sweep was shared by: Steve Burton and Alan Parkes on the 16th par 3, Dale Radford on the 5th and Tim Mortimer on the 14th.
£75 will be donated to a charity in memory of Steve Haines.
